Keeping safe in the library is a team effort, here's a few ways both staff and patrons can keep safe and healthy in the library: Safety around electronics: Should you spot a frayed wire or a damaged circuit, report it immediately, so we can eliminate risk of electrocution. Avoid cluttering desks, as objects falling on computers or keyboards is damaging to both them and possibly you, should your hands be in the way! Liquids should be kept away from any electric-powered item, ranging from cables to computers, this is a hazard should the liquid spill onto it. Don't plug in too many cables to a power board- keep it to one to two items per spot on the board. Manual handling: When lifting heavy things, always lift with your knees, don't bend your back! .Use mechanical lifts/aids where possible!
